Meet Hugo, the cute little frog! I have a strange attraction to frogs, so I'm gladly wearing them as a brooch. This little frog brooch is super fun and easy to make. It can be done in a few hours, it's a true beginner-friendly amigurumi project. This little frog is crocheted from the bottom up, no extra materials are needed, just a super small amount of green yarn. It's good to have some white felt at home to make the eyes pop, but it looks cute with simple embroidered eyes too. Let's jump to the pattern!

Yarn & needles
I used DROPS Safran yarn for the brooch, but I think any kind of similar 5ply / sport weight yarn will do.- Some lightweight, 3-4 mm yarn (sport weight, 5-ply) in green
- 3 mm hook (US D)
- Toy stuffing or some scrap yarn ends
- Stitch marker
- Embroidery needle
- A small amount of white felt for the eyes
- Embroidery floss:
- Black or dark grey
- Pink
Final Size
The final frog will be approximately 1.5 inches (4 cm) long and 1 inch (3 cm) tall.

Pattern notes
All sections are worked in a continuous round unless otherwise specified. Always mark the beginning of each round with a stitch marker. Chain stitches don’t count towards stitch count. This little frog is crocheted from the bottom to the top in one piece. We will start with the head and we will finish with the eyes.
Bottom part - The head
rnd 1: In green color, start with a magic ring, sc 6 into the ring (6 sts)
rnd 2: Inc 6 (12 sts)
rnd 3: [sc 1, inc 1] 6 times (18 sts)
rnd 4: [sc 2, inc 1] 6 times (24 sts)
rnds 5-9: sc 1 (24 sts for 5 rows)
Top part - The Eyes
First eye
rnd 10: sc 4, skip 16 sts, sc 4 - this will create a little 8 st long round on the right side of the head. (8 sts) Continue working in this little round.
rnds 11-12: sc 1 (8 sts for 2 rows)
rnd 13: [dec 1] 4 times (4 sts)
Cut the yarn, pull through the remaining 4 stitches. The frog's right eye is ready.
Second eye
Continue with the remaining 16 sts, start from the left side of the first eye. Skip 4 sts. Join the yarn in the 5th st of the round from the first eye.
rnd 1: sc 8, skip remaining 4 sts and join in the round (8 sts)
