Here comes a super easy, free eye applique pattern! A few years ago I inherited an old shirt from my Mom. She wanted to throw it away since the elbows had big holes on them. But I didn't let her, I kept it and crocheted two eye-shaped patches and sewed them on the elbows. I still wear this shirt today and I absolutely love it. It's a bit baggy, but it always reminds me of my Mother.
Nowadays, I think it's especially important to take care of our clothes during global climate change instead of throwing them away. With this super easy eye applique crochet pattern you can fix any elbow other kinds of holes! It's a super easy, very fast crochet project, which you can make in no time!

Materials
I used mainly DROPS Muskat yarn for this project, but any kind of lightweight yarn will do the trick. For the white part of the eye, I used off-white yarn. (The eye looked a bit too vivid for me with pure white.)
- Some lightweight, 3-4 mm yarn (DK weight, 8-ply) in 3 colors:
- Black or very dark blue
- Blue (or green, or brown or any kind of color you want your iris to be)
- White
- 3 mm hook (US D)
- Stitch marker
Final size
The final eye will be approximately 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. (10 cm x 5 cm)

Sewing
After you're ready with the eyes, it's time to sew them on! I just used some very simple, white sewing thread for this, and I didn't really do any kind of fancy sewing work. I just used a simple running stitch to sew the eye on the hole.
